Quickstart

Account, key, first request. About two minutes.

1. Get an account number

Go to /signup. You get a 16-digit account number. No email, no password. It is shown once, so write it down: it is the only way back in. New accounts start with a small credit bonus so you can try the API before topping up.

2. Create a key

  1. Open Dashboard, API keys.
  2. Name the key. Optionally set a requests-per-minute limit, a spend limit and the models it may use.
  3. Copy the secret. It starts with vk- and is shown once.

4. Check the meter

Every response carries a usage block. Cost is tokens times the per-million price of the model, rounded up to the next micro-dollar. See billing.
